Let Claude Code write a few hundred lines and push them straight into a PR, and the thing you dread is a coworker suddenly asking "why did you change this part?" while you have no answer. So I gave it a 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿-𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲. It stays off while I code. Right before shipping, I type /output-style cover-me to switch over, ask "walk me through this change," and 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝗽. When I'm done, /output-style default switches it back. Save this as ~/.claude/output-styles/cover-me.md and restart once, and it's ready to switch to. --- description: Cover-me mode, confess eve
